Review of the metric system (and how to convert)
In this video you will learn all about the metric system — the basic units, prefixes and how to convert. In no time you will be the exert!
Questions to think about:
1. Design a mnemonic device to help you remember the metric root words.
2. Describe a different way to convert within the metric system (not the King Henry slider).
3. The song “Seasons of Love” from Rent describe a year as 525,600 minutes. Find two additional songs that describe measurement in a unique way, then convert that measurement into a standard measurement.
4. Do you think the US should switch to the metric system? What is your rationale?
