Lightroom 7 Preset Order Bug Fix FAST + EASY!!!!! (WITHOUT Coding!)

Here’s the fastest, easiest fix for Lightroom CC Classic Presets Out of Order. WAAAAAY easier and less complicated than changing the code in every single preset!

Lightroom 7 (Lightroom Classic CC) brought with it a BIG change – No longer are lightroom presets using the file extension .lrpreset. In the new version of lightroom, presets are converted to .xmp files. The problem is when you install the new version of Lightroom and LR CC converts your presets to xmp files, it also changes the order of the presets. This can be VERY frustrating. The reason Lightroom has changed all your presets and messed up the order is because when it converts to XMP, it uses the original file name of that preset. So if it were renamed or reordered at any point in the process, your preset will no longer show up where its supposed to.

Up until now I haven’t found anyone sharing a way to fix the LR preset order in Lightroom 7.3 up other than changing the code of each preset… BUT while prepping some of our presets for use on LR mobile, I stumbled upon a pretty easy hack to fix the preset order. Watch on to learn how to return your presets to the correct order, without any coding necessary!
